Chairman's Corner
BLESSINGS
Have you counted yours lately?
If not, I suggest you do.
Right at the top will be FREEDOM. Look around you at your family, friends....even enemies.
Are you free to love them, to express that love, and to live in peace with them....again, even your enemies?
The United States, Britain, and a coalition of 90 countries have again "stood up to the plate" and protected our PRECIOUS FREEDOM.
What a BLESSING that we have ELECTED LEADERS who will not take tragedies from terrorists who want to rule us by fear, and do nothing about it but TALK.
I know....I participated in a similar SUCCESSFUL EFFORT 60 years ago, took orders from a President I didn't vote for, and saw my personal friends die on foreign soil (primarily France and Germany and the Pacific) without understanding anything except it was for FREEDOM.
Were their deaths a BLESSING to them? NO WAY! To you and me? ABSOLUTELY!
There's a PRICE FOR BLESSINGS. But many don't realize that.
Up until December 7, 1941 and the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, a large number of our people were wringing their hands and saying, "Appease Hitler. He is really a good guy who just needed a little more land for his expanding population. The dear man just wants peace." And World War II was in full swing, leaving better than 50,000,000 people dead including about 450,000 American soldiers and sailors.
Since then we have had over 50,000 American soldiers killed in Vietnam and have fought wars in Somalia, Herzegovenia, Panama, Granada, plus the Gulf War when Iraq invaded Kuiwait.
Just don't get me going. Throughout recorded history the only time peace has prevailed is when the good guys have militarily whipped the bad guys. Who are our best friends in the world? Japan because we whipped them. Germany because we whipped them. Italy because we whipped them. Britain because we whipped them.
(an opinion of an unknown American veteran)
I don't know about you, but every night, on my knees, I thank God for our many
BLESSINGS.
